Well done Apollo Design ! What a great job you have done in remodeling our old bathroom from top to bottom. From start to finish Paul and Dean have carried out the work involved in a very friendly, professional and efficient manner and nothing was too much trouble for them. In early 2017, I decided to convert the original 1950s bathroom in my dad’s bungalow into a wet room. I initially asked two local plumbing companies to give me a quote – both came and said it could not be done as the bathroom was too small and putting in a new floor would be problematic because of the damp course. Undeterred, I called Alan from Apollo Design. He came out to see the bathroom and immediately reassured me that he could install a wet room exactly as I wanted.
Alan advised me on fixtures and fittings and gave some helpful suggestions before the work started. He and his team arrived on time, were punctual every day and there was minimal disruption during installation. Alan completed all of the work in five days, which is exactly what he estimated. I was also happy with the price he quoted.
My dad and I are very happy with the wet room. The plastering, tiling and flooring were done professionally, and Alan installed a powerful extractor fan as requested. We have a rain shower and a conventional one with easy to use controls. Alan also added a grab rail, shower seat and bathroom cabinet and again made useful suggestions about positioning them. The bathroom is quite small but Alan and his team have made the room look much bigger. I would definitely recommend Apollo Design. They have made our bathroom safer, more comfortable and far more attractive.
Being new to our area and not being able to secure a personal recommendation, we were initially attracted to testimonials posted on Alan’s web site alluding to a friendly, professional service with a high degree of attention to detail. On the strength of this we met with Alan Boswell, which served to reassure that he was both trustworthy and conscientious. As such, we asked Alan if he would fit our en suite. Not having any particular yardstick to compare, I would guess that the task was reasonably demanding in the complexity of materials to be used and the weight (both physical and otherwise) of the task. I would stress that Alan and his workforce were up to this task. They were also communicative, flexible and inventive where required. As is always the case in such circumstances, there are unforeseen obstacles to overcome, which Alan met without drama and with efficiency. All in all a pleasure to work with and I have no qualms in recommending for similar work.
Dear Alan, “My disabled mother’s move to a bungalow was dependent on a wet room being available. The plumber that looked at the existing small shower room said he wasn’t sure it would be possible. However, Alan came and had a look and said “no problem”. And it wasn’t! Apollo arrived on time, left sooner than anticipated, had some good ideas, and did an excellent job. Everyone has since commented on how well the wet room works and how much lighter and better it looks than before. We are very pleased and would recommend the company.

I liked the fact that Alan was the first to quote for the job and showed enthusiasm for the project. We had a challenge regarding the waste and Alan was not at all phased. Work commenced with his colleague and it is clear they have a structured, methodical and tidy approach to their work. The quality of the work was exceptional. I was totally satisfied with the job and would recommend Al and his team to anyone. From a speculative search on the Internet, to find someone who is a real tradesman, honest and hard working was a real result. We had a big problem with a leaking shower tray and waste, which was running up hill and we had to use a sink plunger to empty each time the shower was used. Contacted Alan at Apollo Design and although he was very busy, and as we do not have a bath, he arranged to completely redo the shower into a small wet room. Between them they re-made the base, waterproofed and fitted the correct type of waste trap (no longer running up hill!) and tiled the whole area and fitted a one metre wide screen, all within one week! and only took that long because the screen was a couple of days longer than normal to be delivered. Can’t thank you enough guys, really super job which my wife and I are really pleased with. Would certainly recommend you to anyone.! Thanks again.
Dear Alan, we would like to thank you for all the superb conversion and refurbishment of our bathroom. We never imagined such a transformation was possible. The project must have been a huge challenge, especially knocking down that wall. The casing for the central heating boiler fits in so well with the surroundings, and hides the unsightly pipe work and pump. It was such a pleasure to have you and your team in our house during the last two weeks. Best wishes to you all.
My bathroom was looking very ‘tired’, the bath and the toilet needed replacing and the shower was practically useless.
I contacted Alan at Apollo design, he arranged to come and discuss our needs and give us a quote for the work that we needed.
What we wanted was a complete new bathroom set at a reasonable price. We took note of Alan’s friendly and obviously very knowledgeable advice also his recommendations to look for a standard, rather than a fancy, more expensive, range of fittings.
We expected a standard, clean non exceptional job, that is not what we got! We got a an exceptionally beautiful bathroom, finished to perfection, fully tiled and floored with fittings that were both practical and smart. It was also completed spot on the time specified by Alan. The work ethic was excellent, regular work within proper time periods and minimum disruption to the house.
We cannot praise Alan enough, a brilliant job at an extremely reasonable price. Every one that has visited has commented on the excellent quality of the workmanship.
We are so glad that we listened to his sound advice, it saved us a lot of expense and gave us a lovely bathroom.
We would not hesitate to recommend this kind, considerate and thoroughly competent professional craftsman.
I am very pleased with my wet room, I found Alan to be very professional and punctual. My shower set-up was quite complicated and was completed without any fuss or bother. Alan (Apollo Design) was the jack of all trades and master of ALL. In refurbishing my bathroom his skills were plenty evident in the way he tackled the Plumbing, Tiling and Flooring. When overcoming the inevitable builders’ problems he always took time and effort to choose the best solution rather than the easiest and quickest. I value his helpful advice in making the numerous choices involved in creating that ‘smart’ finished look that one sees in the magazines. We were so impressed by the results, and value for money, that we have asked Alan to do a similar dream job on our downstairs cloakroom. I cannot recommend Alan and Apollo more highly.

We would like to thank you for the great job you did on our bathroom, The half pedestal basin makes the bathroom seem more spacious. The wall tiling is excellent also the laminate flooring looks like real tiles. We would not be afraid to recommend you to other people. We were exploring what options were available to us to convert an existing dressing room and wardrobe into an en-suite and had serious doubts about what was achievable in the space available. We contacted a number of potential suppliers/contractors, none of whom gave us sufficient confidence for us to proceed until we spoke to Alan Boswell. What a breath of fresh air, he offered ideas (and continued to do so throughout as the project progressed) and suggested options we hadn’t even considered. We had been thinking about installing a shower cubicle but Alan suggested a wet room which would actually save money and make the room seem much more spacious. I liked Alan’s approach, he cares about the result and the customers satisfaction, he reassured us throughout and offered advice on sourcing equipment and supplies as well as turning up on time every day until the work was complete. We were delighted with our wet room.
